If you aren't able to log into your account please make sure you're using the correct user name or email address associated with your account. You can also check your Java setting under the Control Panel in your browser to make sure there are no updates that currently need to be installed. Please note if you have entered your email at the kiosk or receive our promo emails you still need to create your own online account here.

To change the email address associated with your online account you'll need to create a new account. It is not possible to change the email address associated with an existing online account.

Renting Online

Once you have set up an online account you can select your preferred kiosk. Log-in, then use the kiosk locator on the home page to find a kiosk.  Once you have determined the kiosk you would like to use click on the "make this my preferred kiosk" link.

Find the movie you want to rent and click "rent" and the system will walk you through the reservation process.

You are charged for the initial night rental when you complete your reservation. If you do not pick-up your rental by 9 p.m. the following day you'll be charged for the initial night rental plus tax.

You'll be prompted to enter your promo code on the Checkout screen.

When you reserve an item online your credit or debit card will be charged for the initial rental charge(s) plus tax less any promo code discount. To use a promo code you must enter it when completing your online reservation.  You may also see a pre-authorization on your account for this amount. This pre-authorization will typically drop off your account within 3-5 business days depending on your card issuer's policy.

If you don't pick up your rental before 9 p.m. the day after you reserve online, your debit or credit card will be charged the initial rental rate, plus tax.  If a promo code was used when reserving online, the promo code discount will not apply.  Promo codes are only applicable to the initial night charge if the movie is picked up by 9 p.m. on the due date. If you do not pick up the movie(s) by 9 p.m. on the due date, you will be charged for the value of the promo code and the promo code cannot be used again.

Renting at the kiosk

A valid credit or debit card is required for any movie rental. Your card is pre-authorized for the initial rental rate for the item being reserved or rented, plus tax.  The initial rental period starts when you reserve the item online or when you rent from the Kiosk (whichever occurs first) and ends at 9 p.m. the next day.  The pre-authorization should drop off of your account in 3-5 business days depending on your card issuer's criteria.

Find the movie you're looking for on the kiosk shopping screen, select it, then follow the instructions on the screen.

The initial rental period starts when you reserve the item online or when you rent from the kiosk and ends at 9 p.m. the next day.

Rental Issues

Your card may not be a valid debit or credit card accepted at the kiosk. Please verify you are not using a pre-paid card, re-loadable card, gift card, government issued card, or an employer card. If you have further questions, please contact us.

We confirm your billing zip code with your banking institution for security purposes.  If you receive an invalid zip code error at the kiosk, please contact your banking institution to confirm your billing statement zip code.

If the movie did not dispense, there will be no transaction that processes from BLOCKBUSTER Express.  Because your credit card was swiped for the rental, your card was pre-authorized for the initial rental rate plus tax.  The pre-authorization should drop off of your account in 3-5 business days depending on your card issuer's criteria.

Returning

All items are due back by 9 p.m. the day after you reserve the item online or when you take the item from the kiosk, whichever occurs first.

You'll need a valid credit or debit card to rent from a BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosk. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo. We do not currently accept gift cards, pre-paid, re-loadable, government issued, or employee cards.

If we have your email address we'll send you a receipt shortly.  If you haven't provided your email address and would like to, you can provide it the next time you rent at the kiosk or online, when you set up an account.  If you already have an account or have already entered your email address but are not receiving confirmations and receipts please update your email address and verify the box to "Receive Email Receipts" is checked.  The kiosk will send all confirmations and receipts directly to your email address if you provide an email address when you rented your item.  If you have any questions, please contact customer service at 1-877-300-2128.

No, BLOCKBUSTER Express rentals cannot be returned to a BLOCKBUSTER© store. Please return your items to a BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosk.

Disc Care

Under our Terms and Conditions, BLOCKBUSTER Express is not liable for damage or loss to any viewing or gaming devices, including but not limited to DVD players, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, TVs, portable DVD players, and Laptops, arising out of the use of any item purchased or rented.  Your sole remedy for a defective rental item is replacement of the defective rental with a rental item of the same type.

  • Always handle by the edges once it has been removed from the case,. Touching the reflective side of the disc could leave fingerprints, oil and dirt that may cause problems when playing your movie.
  • You may want to clean the disc before playing. You can safely clean a disc with a mix of water and mild detergent (like liquid soap). You can also use basic rubbing alcohol. Always use a lint free cloth and gently wipe the disc starting from the center outward, in a straight line. Watch out for the BLOCKBUSTER Express barcode. Please don't let it get wet or torn when cleaning the disc.
  • Remember, don't use anything that is abrasive, highly acidic or that could scratch or damage the disk.

If the disc cannot be viewed or is damaged, please call us first before returning the disc for further instructions at 1-877-300-2128.

To remove a disc from the case, grip the case on either side with one hand. With your free hand, place thumb in the center of the disc and slide or push forward. If you are having trouble removing the disc from its case, please do not use sharp or hard edged objects in an attempt to dislodge. If you need further assistance please call us at 1-877-300-2128.
